Bad habits

Waimea LOVES eating. If she had her way she'd be eating all day long. To try and facilitate this apparent need of hers, she's developed some very bad habits:

First. while eating she drops some of her food on the floor and/or stuffs in into her chair for later.
Second, she scavenges the kitchen floor multiple times per day, picking up and eating whatever she can find, no matter how old it is.
Third, when I'm in the kitchen she hovers around me so that when I open the fridge to get something out, she weasles her way around me in search of something to retrieve.
Fourth, and most disgusting, is taking food from the trash can. I can't seem to keep her out of it.
And here is evidence:
Licking her bowl clean:
Searching the fridge:

Retrieving her loot:

This mustard container WAS in the trash:

Ramblings of a three year old

During an unusually quiet drive to preschool this morning, Spencer started chuckling and said, "Spiders legs are funny."
"Spencer, why are spiders legs funny?"
"Because they have really long lines with shoes."

And before I had a chance to stop laughing at that one, he asked,
"Mommy, will the sun melt the bird poop?"
(There was a big plop of bird poop on his window).

By this point I was laughing so hard I could barely drive. And Spencer was MAD. I felt so bad, but I just couldn't stop laughing.

And then, while making lunch after preschool, I was asking Spencer if he could remember who our president is (they talked about presidents today, in honor of the holiday yesterday). After a long pause, he replied, very quietly, "Jim."

Jim is a man we taught and baptized on my mission, who is stopping by for a visit today on his way back to Massachusetts. I have been telling Spencer that Jim is coming over today. Apparently Spencer thinks he's the president. (Does that mean we taught and baptised the president?) Needless to say, that got me cracking up again. Poor Spencer, he must think his mom is a wacko, laughing at everything he says. Who knows, maybe I am a wacko. Does anyone else find Spencer's comments funny? Or am I going wacko? You choose.
