Out of the mouth of babes...

Spencer's friend W was over yesterday for a playdate. Near the end of his stay, he came up to me and said, "Um...why is your house so messy?"

Truth for truth, I responded, "Because I'm a slob. And because we're fixing up our house."

He replied, "It's so messy I can hardly walk."

Thanks, W, I didn't think it was quite that bad.

Go Rocket!

This post is long overdue! Nearly a month ago, Grandma and Grandpa Barlow came for a week and half visit. We had a blast! Grandma and Grandpa are GREAT with the kids, and are game for just about anything. Included in this are:

Crouching down and playing with the kids in the sandbox:

Feeding ducks while trying to avoid being attacked by a goose:

Driving out to the Howell Living History Farm, only to realize that there isn't too much to see (but at least we left with the largest carrot I've ever seen in my life):

Getting wet in the ocean, even though they didn't bring their swimsuits and weren't planning on getting wet (but it was grandpa's first time to touch the Atlantic, so at least it wasn't for naught, right?):

Letting us talk them into playing the Wii for the first time ever:

Other things they willingly did that aren't pictured included:
-doing the Philly walking tour of the downtown historical sites with kids in tow
-taking numerous "binocular walks"
-going to the Statue of Liberty with kids who have been there too many times
-playing pretend baseball at the park on labor day
-watching the kids for me each day while I went to the gym (I kept offering to take the kids with me, but they insisted on having them stay)
-watching too many Teletubby and Little Einsteins episodes (to the point where Grandpa could practically quote them word-for-word. Hence the "Go Rocket" title)

Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma, for the visit! Hope you come back soon!
